Operating Room Nurses of Alberta Association
Mission Statement
We are the Operating Room Nurses of Alberta Association, a voluntary and autonomous association of perioperative registered nurses, an interest group of the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta, and a member of the Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada.
Who serve the membership of the association by:
- Providing liaison between the membership, and other partner health care organizations and associations as required,
- Advocating on behalf of the Operating Room Nurses of Alberta Association,
- Disseminating information and updates including nationally established perioperative standards and guidelines,
- Monitoring emerging trends and issues and identifying opportunities for perioperative registered nurses,
- Providing and funding educational opportunities through conferences and seminars,
- Publishing and distributing a newsletter,
- Encouraging and supporting perioperative nursing research,
- Maintaining a history of the organization, and
- Promoting membership in the association;
For members of the Operating Room Nurses of Alberta Association, all perioperative registered nurses in the province, the Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada and other OR associations, the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta and for student nurses;
In order to promote and encourage the highest possible quality of perioperative nursing practice in the province.
